Writing Program Assessment

For the Writing Program Assessment, you'll be creating some rather complex documents.
For the program assessment, we'll be going through a couple steps.  You'll do much of the organizational and planning work here in class, but you'll be doing much of the copying, pasting, and writing outside of class.  
Here's a quick guide to get your started.



Step 1: Create Your Folder

  1. In the STV 250 folder, you'll each create a personal folder as "Edel_Ryan/Dropbox/Lastname, Firstname - Program Assessment
  2. Into your personal folder, you'll save a copy of the Assessment Questions from the Moodle.  You should name this "Lastname, Firstname - Assessment Questions
  3. Also in your folder, you'll create a new Word document and title it "Lastname, Firstname - Portfolio."
Step 2: Format your Portfolio
Add your name, page numbers, and headers for "Project 1, Project 2, Project 3."


Step 3: Assemble Your Major Works
Copy the following works into your portfolio document under the appropriate headings.  These should all be available online, but please let me know if you're missing any.

  1. You'll copy the images and text from your Project 1 Presentations (from HubPages or Facebook).  Please be sure to also copy the comments you received.
  2. You'll copy your annotated bibliographies from Project 2.
  3. If you made slides for Project 2, please save these as JPEG's and then copy them to the file, too (they should be in the STV 250 folder).
  4. You'll then copy your Grassroots Project.
Step 4: Begin Answering the Questions
For the questions, the Writing Program is largely looking for references to work you've already done.  Before typing out your answers, I recommend going through your projects and then copying any text or images which you feel best apply to each question.  I'd do this for all the questions first, and then later go back and start typing in your responses.

Step 5: Continue Work for Thursday
Before leaving class, make sure to upload your documents to the Moodle so you'll have copies to work with at home.  In the case the portfolio is too large, you can simply e-mail it, but please upload your Assessment Questions just so I know you're working on it.

Very important: at home (or here in class, if you have them), please add copies of your Grassroots draft documents to your Portfolio doc.  This will illustrate how your draft progressed over the past few weeks.  This is especially important if you've made significant changes or if you've switched topics.
